Learners will complete the following mandatory units: Promote a positive health and safety culture Develop and maintain individual and organisational competence in health and safety matters Control health and safety risks Develop and implement proactive monitoring systems for health and safety Develop and implement reactive monitoring systems for health and safety
Learners will complete the following mandatory units: Develop and implement health and safety emergency response systems and procedures Develop and implement health and safety review systems Develop and implement a health and safety audit Behavioural safety in the workplace Develop and implement the health and safety policy
Learners will also take a number of optional units, choosing from a broad range that includes: Influence improvements in health and safety practice Develop, implement and review the organisations health and safety strategy Contribute to health and safety legal actions Manage contractors to ensure compliance with health and safety Develop and implement the health and safety induction process Professional development and ethics in health and safety management
They are able to: evaluate health and safety information develop and implement communication systems for health and safety information within the organisation understand the external factors influencing effective communication systems for health and safety information understand how to develop and implement effective communication systems for health and safety information
They are able to: advocate, develop and communicate a positive health and safety culture for the organisation work with key stakeholders in implement a positive health and safety culture maintain a positive health and safety culture in the organisation

They are able to: understand the steps required to develop and implement the Health and Safety Policy, define the statutory and workplace health and safety requirements for the organisation, develop the Health and Safety Policy, implement the Health and Safety Policy
They might be able to: identify new developments in health and safety, influence professional colleagues on health and safety matters, understand how to maintain knowledge of improvements in health and safety practice within the organisation
They might be able to: understand the nature and role of change on identifying health and safety hazards within the organisation, understand principles and concepts of change, prepare a health and safety strategy for the organisation, identify internal and external factors which have an impact on health and safety in the organisation, identify and plan an appropriate change process for health and safety strategy
They might be able to: contribute to the defence of a health and safety criminal action, contribute to a health and safety civil action, understand the nature and role of any health and safety legal actions within the organisation, understand external factors influencing health and safety legal actions
