This person can: Work to current best practice for dental nurses, Use appropriate communication maintaining professionalism at all times and through all media to provide patient-centred care, Prepare and maintain the clinical environment, Carry out infection control procedures, Prepare mix and handle materials, Keep accurate and current patient records, Prepare equipment and materials for dental radiographs, Give appropriate oral and general health advice to patients,
Recognise and deal with medical emergencies, Take responsibility for own professional development in line with General Dental Council requirements, Contribute to the quality improvement of the service.
End-point assessment components: Synoptic Knowledge Test, Observation of practice, Interview underpinned by a EPA portfolio. As part of this integrated apprenticeship, this person has completed the following units of the City & Guilds Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing (4238-22)
