This qualification allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the Aviation Advanced Maintenance and Engineering sector in general. Earning Criteria
Required
Learners must achieve all four units from Mandatory Group A: 301 Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements. 302 Using and interpreting engineering data and documentation. 303 Working efficiently and effectively in advanced manufacturing and engineering. 304 Reinstating the work area on completion of activities

The learner is able to: Comply with their duties & obligations as defined in the Health and Safety at Work Act. Demonstrate the required occupational behaviours in line with the job role & company objectives. Present themselves in the workplace suitably prepared for the activities to be undertaken. Follow organisational accident and emergency procedures. Recognise and control hazards in the workplace. Use correct manual lifting and carrying techniques. Apply safe working practices and procedures
The learner is able to: Use the approved source to obtain the required data, documentation or specifications. Demonstrate the required occupational behaviours in line with the job role and company objectives. Extract and interpret the required information from the data, documentation or specifications. Use the information obtained to establish work requirements. Deal promptly and effectively with any problems within their control and report those which cannot be solved.
The learner is able to: Record and/or communicate technical data and information using approved methods. Report any inaccuracies or discrepancies in drawings and specifications. Use the approved source to obtain the required data, documentation or specifications. Work safely at all times, complying with health and safety and environmental legislation, regulations and other relevant guidelines. Demonstrate the required occupational behaviours in line with the job role & company objectives/values
The learner is able to: Plan the manufacturing/engineering activities before they start them. Prepare the work area for carrying out the manufacturing/engineering activity. Obtain all necessary consumables, tools and equipment and check that they are in a safe and usable condition. Deal promptly and effectively with any manufacturing/engineering problems within their control, and seek help and guidance from the relevant people if they have problems that they cannot resolve
The learner is able to: Contribute to the business by identifying possible opportunities for improving working practices, processes and/or procedures. Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues & supervisors. Review personal training & development, as appropriate to the job role. Clean, tidy up & restore the work area on completion of the manufacturing/engineering activity. Work safely at all times complying with health & safety & other relevant regulations, directives & guidelines
The learner is able to: Demonstrate required behaviours in line with job role & objectives. Separate equipment, components & materials for re-use from waste & materials. Store reusable materials & equipment appropriatly. Dispose of waste materials in line with organisational & environmental safe procedures. Restore work areas to a safe condition in accordance with agreed requirements & schedules. Deal promptly & effectively problems within their control & report those that cannot be solved
