Unit 002: Principles and values of health and social care (children and young people). The learner understands how: 1. Legislation, national policies and codes of conduct and practice underpin health and social care and support children and young people

The learner understands: 6. How to develop positive relationships with children and young people and their families and carers in the context of ‘professional boundaries’

Unit 004: Health and well-being (children and young people). 1. The learner knows what well-being means in context of health and social care

Unit 005: Professional practice as a health and social care worker. The learner understands: 1. the role, responsibilities and accountabilities of health and social care workers

Unit 006: Safeguarding individuals. The learner understands: 1. The purpose of legislation, national policies and codes of conduct and professional practice in relation to the safeguarding of individuals. 2. How to work in ways that safeguard individuals from harm, abuse and neglect. 3. The factors, situations and actions that could lead or contribute to harm, abuse or neglect. 4. Understands how to respond, record and report concerns, disclosures or allegations related to safeguarding.

Unit 007: Health and safety in health and social care. The learner understands how health and safety legislation impacts on daily practice, their role and responsibilities and those of employers. They can cover the types of accidents, emergencies and hazards that may occur in a workplace/setting and how risk assessment is used to support health and safety. They understand responsibilities in relation to carrying out, recording and following risk assessments.
