Level 2 Award in Tunnel Entry and Associated Emergency Procedures (6151-02)
This qualification has been developed from the national occupational standards for medium risk confined space for use in Tunnel Entry and Emergency Procedures. It has been developed in conjunction with industry experts to be a pre-requisite for entering any tunnel. It is normal practice for it to be re-taken on a 3 year cycle. This qualification is suitable if you are 16 years old, or over. Ofqual accreditation number 600/6167/4

Earning Criteria
Required
This qualification is for learners who need to apply the skills and knowledge required for carrying out work activities in tunnels and shafts where there may be a reasonably foreseeable specified risk. This person is able to:
Prepare to work safely in confined spaces in tunnels and shafts
Enter and exit tunnels and shafts safely
Use escape respiratory protective equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications
Use equipment and tools safely and in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions
Follow procedures and work safely
Deal with emergencies
Understand procedures for working safely in tunnels and shafts
Understand how to comply with relevant industry standards for working in tunnels and shafts
