They are able to:
Understand why communication is important in the work setting
Understand the importance of equality and inclusion
Contribute to assessments of the development needs of children and young people
Know about the legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures for safeguarding the welfare of children and young people including e-safety
Know what to do in the event of a non medical incident or emergency
Know the policies and procedures of the setting for promoting children and young people’s positive behaviour
Understand how to support the nutritional and dietary needs of children and young people
Communicate with children and young people develop and maintain relationships with children and young people
