Level 2 Diploma in Practical Horticulture Skills (7573-02)

This qualification is aimed at learners who want to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in within the horticultural industry. It is a very practical qualification and focusses on the skills necessary to progress into a career in horticulture. Suitable for learners aged 16 and over Accreditation No: 601/1070/3

This qualification contains a range of optional units which the learner will have achieved depending on their work role and work setting. They will be able to provide additional separate evidence of those optional units. These could include:

Lay hard surfaces for external landscaping ; assess soil texture and condition ; plant a tree ; plant a container for seasonal display ; prune deciduous spring-flowering shrubs ; maintain indoor plants ; prune soft fruit bushes and cane fruits ; propagate plants by stem cuttings ; repair damaged turf ; use a pedestrian controlled rotary cultivator ; identify plants by botanical name ; identify damage caused by plant pests.
