Manual Handling Skills Instructor Train the Trainer Programme
This programme is for individuals identified as in-house trainers who are to deliver the Caring Homes Manual Handling / People Moving programme. The programme provides knowledge and practice of manual handling, and the facilitation and training skills required to deliver the in-house programme. It includes a theory test of manual handling knowledge and assessment within the workplace to recognise competence of delivery.

Earning Criteria
Required
This individual has attended a train the trainer programme to provide them with the knowledge and skills to deliver the Manual Handling / People Moving in-house programme to Caring Homes colleagues. They have covered the key principles of Manual Handling, including the relevant legislation. It has also included preparation and time management, facilitation, questioning and listening skills, providing feedback and how to deal with challenging behaviours.
This individual has successfully completed a microteach session within the training programme and has also been assessed completing a People Moving programme in the workplace. The individual has been assessed for Technical, Communication and Facilitation skills. They have also passed an open book assessment on the theory and practice of manual handling.
